a running list.

Ryan thought it would be funny to have a funning list of all of the goofy things I have said or mistaught the girls.....where did my magna cum laude brain go? I guess I lost it once I grew a placenta.

1. Who is Ice Tea? I mean Ice Cube?
2. Look Liv at the Teepee.... (but it really was a totem poll)
3. Look at the Beeson (bison)
4. Look at the helicopter (it was an airplane)
5. So what other countries are in the world series?

Just to name a few. If only I were Jessica Simpson, I could some extra cash from my absent-mind.

But if you ask me who the 5 Backyardigans are, I will know. Or how to sing the theme song to lazytown.

My very own Rubber Duckies.

11 weeks.

only 1 more week of being a newborn.....sniff sniff

Lucy's house.

liv and Lucy raded Lucy;s closet while Denice and I hung downstairs with the babies. This is what they were doing........trying on clothes.

Linvilla.

Today we went to linvilla with our monday playgroup and Liz. Once we got there we went to the big playground and the kids blew some steam. We had never been to the feeding zoo there but Liv loved looking at all of the animals. We decided to skip out on the hayride because we spent so much time doing the other goods. Plus the lines looked long and the tractors looked packed, didn't seem like the ideal place for 4 toddlers, 2 newborns, and a 9 month pregnant women.
Before leaving we bought some cider donuts and local produce. Yum!

Charlotte just took her morning nap in the bjorn while we were there and didn't make a peep. the fresh air has knocked her out cold for her afternoon nap.... Let's hope it does the same for Liv's nap.....

So sorry, Liz...... my daughter wanted to adopt a new mom for the day and decided Liz's hip looked like a good place to hang out. Double fisting it......

Charlotte.

She has become so aware lately and Ryan and I are loving it. She can lay on a blanket or the couch and just gaze around the room forever in amazement. Whenever she sees us approaching her, she starts to kick and swing her arms in excitement. (like she can't contain herself). When you talk to her, she stares into your eyes and just kicks away. She is such a happy baby. The best is when liv goes over to her. Charlotte's face lights up. She loves her big sister so much!

grateful.

There are so many things in my life I am grateful for. For the past week or so I have been in a reflective state and going deep within my heart and soul. Having two deaths and funerals this week i am sure is what triggered the reflection. I want to begin living each day as if it were my last. I don't want to take tomorrow for granted. My life in the NOW is full of such love and happiness. However I let my fears of the future interfere with my current joy. My goal is to not look ahead, only live each day to its fullest. I don't want to have any regrets.

I am grateful for having a husband who is extremely supportive. He is willing to wear so many different hats. His days begin at 7am (if he is lucky the girls behave) and don't end until 1am. He makes the most out of his hour in the morning with the girls while getting ready for work and and an hour and a half in the evening. He is extremely hands on and there is nothing he wouldn't do for his girls (all 4 of us). On the weekends, we try and make up for the long days during the week by doing fun-filled packed things that create our strong family bond and develop memories. What I have realized and known from my own childhood that it isn't the quantity of time spent that makes you a better parent, it is the quality.

I do alot of reflecting with my mom and we have some wonderful heart-to-heart conversation. Often we talk about when I was younger and how my dad was working his butt off starting his business. But to be honest, I do not remember that much at all. The reason is because no matter how stressed my dad was or no matter how many hours of sleep he had the night before (going to bed at 2-3 and waking up at 6 or so), he NEVER showed it. He always gave the three of us 100% of his attention. He coached every sport we played. He was always asking us to go outside to play. He would always start the weekends with the house blaring with music and us all dancing around. And now that I am in a similar situation, I have so much respect for both of my parents. The fact that my mom supported my dad and was able to be at home with the three of us. Now that I am here, the one at home with two kids, I know how HARD it can be at times. My mom always made it look so easy. But then again that was my perspective as a kid, I now know how many sacrifices she made for us. I am so grateful for that.

I wake up each day and look at my girls..... Even though i may feel overwhelmed at times. It is not due to the moment or because of the girls misbehaving..... it is due to the love that is pouring out of my heart. It truly takes my breathe away. I can't wrap my brain around the fact that I made those girls. they grew in my body. I look into their eyes and I see my soul. I see everything I ever wanted, more than I ever could have dreamt of. I well up inside just when I think about my love for the girls.

I know all little girls have these imaginative fairy tale dreams that they hope to one day fulfill. I am not saying I don't have my typical mommy moments, but overall I couldn't have asked for a better life. this is my fairytale.

Happily ever after.

snug bugs.

hey, my kids do look like me!?!?

Look at who looks like me, afterall.

Merry Place.

We went for a little family time to merry place. Corriah was included. Liv's favorite thing to do is rock skipping with daddy.

Dr. Maddie

Well the girls both visited Dr. maddie yesterday. Liv's 3 year check-up and Charlotte's 2month (2 weeks late). Liv has bumped herself up the the 25-50% for weight weighing 28 pounds and 50 % for height (37 inches). Charlotte was 50% across the board. Weighing in at 10lb 13oz..
All went well. Poor Charlotte got a shot in each arm and leg. She has been such a trooper.

10 weeks.

Liv found a new way of interacting with Charlotte. (let me put my whole sticker book on her dress)

"the hardwood floor slide"

50 million enter the landfills a day.

And they take 500 years to biodegrade. Disposable diapers.

I have been thinking for awhile about switching from disposable diapers to cloth. And this week I just dove right in and decided to do it. The diapers are much different then those my mom used. They are called bumgenius. They resemble disposables in that they velcro and have elastic waist and leg openings. They come in various colors and are super cute. I just hope I can hack it. It feels super good to not be throwing out a trash bag full of diapers each week.

Smith Memorial Playhouse and Playground.

Today we took about a 15-20 drive to fairmount park. We went to the smith playhouse/play ground. It is a mansion that is converted into a huge playhouse and has a huge playground with super unique equipment. It has been around for over a hundred years. It is known for it huge slide that goes from a second floor window to the ground and it is all hardwood. The best part about it was that it is free ......
Liv had a blast. The slide was the biggest hit.

The basement is a miniature little city with streets and tricycles. Big traffic lights, meters, parking lots, gas station. All proportioned for the kids. Apparently when it is busy it is like bumper cars but luckily we got there right when they opened so we had most of the mansion to ourselves.

This mansion has alot of history and it was fun to play on the same grounds as kids of the city have for over a century.

Not sure who enjoyed the slide more, Liv, Ry, Charlotte, or me.....

Even though the equipment has been updated and renovated, they all resemble original equipment that was there over 100 years ago.

Ending on a good note.

One thing that we try to do each day before we tuck liv in at night is snuggle together in our bed and watch one of Livi's shows. We all cuddle, read books, tell stories, etc. We head upstairs around 6:45 (6:30 on bath nights). At 7 we tuck Charlotte in bed, then let Liv feel like a big girl by staying with us until 8.
A new tradition that has started to develop is taking turns telling each other our favorite part of the day. Today Liv's favorite part was "holding daddy's hand while going down the slide". awwwww.....

It feels good to end each day on a good note and with a positive thought.

Sisters- the rock that I would cling to in a storm.

The bond between sisters is one so precious, unique, irreplaceable. I couldn't be more fulfilled knowing that I have given that bond to the girls.

Here are the lyrics to Sade's Lover's rock:

I am in the wilderness
You are in the music
In the man's car next to me
Somewhere in my sadness
I know I won't fall apart completely

When I need to be rescued
And I need a place to swim
I have a rock to cling to in the storm
When no one can hear me calling
I have you I can sing to

And in all this
And in all my life

You are the lovers rock
The rock that I cling to
You're the one
The one I swim to in a storm
Like a lovers rock

When I need to be rescued you're there
When I need a place to swim to in a storm
I sing to you
And all my life
And in all my life

more smiles.
